Steadfast

From the attic to the altar

…Just Worship

What was once jam sessions in an attic with Jasmine Barnett (drums), DeMarcus Compton (vox/keyboard) and Jeremy Edwards (lead guitar), became a Spirit filled worship ministry in 2004 called Steadfast. That same year, God placed Reyn Judd (lead vox) and Weston Dicken (rhythm guitar) in the band. The Holy Spirit began to move as congregations all over central Kentucky enjoyed the worship and talents of Steadfast. As the Spirit moved, so did the ministry when Leah Hayes joined the band as a female lead singer. Steadfast continued to grow in Christ and as a band; those around them could feel the anointing of God as it was apparent that He was the center of the ministry.

In 2009, Weston left the band to attend the University of Kentucky. Jeremy and Reyn also departed to pursue ministries that God had for them. As the members grew small, the passion to seek God’s will and to do His work did not. By fall 2009, God continued to have His hand on the ministry as He molded Steadfast into their current form. God called Andrew Bennett (rhythm guitar), Elijah Coffey (lead guitar), Doug Hurt (bass) and Benson Sexton (vox/acoustic guitar) into ministry with the band.

1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye Steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” The mission of the band is to live this verse; to continue to press forward in the work of the Lord. It is Steadfast’s number one desire that people come to know Christ through their ministry. You will not find them boasting in their work, but humbled at the foot of cross…the altar…Just Worship.
