Steadfast

DeMarcus Compton

DeMarcus Steven Edward Compton was born and raised in Green County, KY. He graduated from Green County High School in 2005 where he was voted Most Loveable and played the saxophone in the music program. DeMarcus went on to further his education at Campbellsville University. While at CU, he spent two years leading the Tiger Marching Band as its field commander and worked with freshman students as a 1st class mentor. In 2009, DeMarcus obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and sociology. He currently works as an Admissions Counselor at his alma mater.

In his free time, DeMarcus loves reading, listening to music, and attending marching band events. He considers himself a "true band geek." This past year, DeMarcus was able to work with his alma mater, Green County Marching band, who made it to state finals for the first time in school history.

DeMarcus has been playing keyboard and singing with Steadfast for 5 years. This ministry has truly blessed his life. He loves the fact that he gets to spread the love of Jesus Christ with some of his best friends. Outside of Steadfast, DeMarcus travels and sings with his parent's ministry, Kenny Carter and the New Spiritual Tones. On Wednesday nights, he co-teaches music at Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Jasmine Barnett (Steadfast drummer) and Alex Patterson. DeMarcus is also the pianist for the Mount Union Baptist Church in Allendale, KY.

All in all, DeMarcus is a down to earth guy who loves serving the Lord and meeting new people. It is his goal to live a Christ-like life and to inspire others to do the same. DeMarcus wants everyone to know: "Aint no party like a Holy Ghost party cuz a Holy Ghost party don't stop!"
